Body of Daasebre Gyamenah arrives in Koforidua amidst wailing


Myjoyonline has published photos of the arrival of the mortal remains of highlife musician, Daasebre Gyamenah in Koforidua. His body arrived in Koforidua amidst wailing  around 1 p.m and  it has been deposited at the St. Joseph Hospital Morgue.
Family sources says the highlife musician died of a heart-related disease. Daasebre Gyamenah’s family earlier Friday stated that they will not allow the late musician to be buried in line with Islamic tradition.

According to the family, the musician, although a Muslim will not be buried in line with Islamic tradition because he was a royal from the New Juaben Traditional Area.

He said in a tweet that the late Daasebre Gyamenah was one of the people who inspired his music.  Below was his exact words:

Daasebre Gyamenah, 44, according to his manager Papa Loggy, passed away on Friday while he was on admission at the 37 Military Hospital. The late highlife artiste was confirmed to have not been well for some time .
His mortal remains have been conveyed to Koforidua for an Islamic burial but his family has refused to perform the Islamic burial rites. According to his family, although Daasebre was a Muslim, he will not be buried in line with Islamic tradition because he was from a royal home.
